2026 Accreditation Applications (09 Aug 2026)

NZCS Accreditation is the highest professional honour our Society can bestow on a cinematographer. It's not a length-of-service award. It's a recognition, by your peers, that your work sits at the top tier of the craft, in this country and against international standards.

If you've worked as a professional cinematographer in any field for a minimum of 8 years, including at least the last 3 years as an NZCS Cinematographer member, and you believe your body of work reaches that level, it might be time to apply.

Accreditation is peer reviewed by an independent panel of already-accredited members, and not every application succeeds. It's a genuinely rigorous process, and that's exactly why it carries weight. Achieving it places you among a small group of cinematographers whose work has been judged, by the people best qualified to judge it, as world-class.

Accredited members are the only people permitted to use the letters NZCS after their name. To learn more, read our NZCS Accreditation overview.

To apply, download and complete the application form, and submit your application, supporting documents to the address provided.

If you would like help or advice, please email eo@nzcine.com.

Applications close 9 September 2026
